Reflecting on my first year in Canada brings a mix of emotions. Embarking on this journey meant leaving behind everything familiar to embrace a new life filled with promises—a decision that, while seemingly straightforward on paper, was anything but in reality. Joining my Rotman MBA cohort as the last member, nearly nine months into the program, presented an immediate and formidable challenge. Adjusting to a new country while catching up on my studies required an immense effort. The task of juggling the demands of a new lifestyle with additional summer courses was daunting.
However, looking back, I realize how rewarding the journey has been. Not only did I manage to complete all my courses ahead of time, securing an entire semester to explore subjects that intrigued me, but the hardship also led to unexpected growth and opportunities. My MBA journey, though fraught with difficulties, was profoundly enriched by the incredible people I met along the way. The generosity and kindness of these individuals transformed my Rotman experience into something truly meaningful.
As I mark one year in Canada, this post is a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful souls who have supported, encouraged, and enriched my journey. Your generosity has turned a challenging transition into a rewarding adventure, making my MBA journey not just bearable but invaluable. Here's to celebrating a year of growth, learning, and friendships in Canada!
